0:00 → 0:04
Today we're going to measure for a Fitchman Furniture radiator cover.
0:04 → 0:07
Measuring is actually quite an easy process, and today we're going to walk through those
0:07 → 0:12
simple steps to make your radiator cover fit perfectly.
0:12 → 0:15
When ordering a radiator cover, the sizing is going to be based off of the interior dimensions
0:15 → 0:17
of the cover.
0:17 → 0:22
This is the interior clearance in length, height, and depth on the inside of the cover,
0:22 → 0:28
and it should allow for about one inch of clearance all the way around your radiator.
0:28 → 0:32
The overall dimensions are going to be the outside dimensions of the cover at its widest
0:32 → 0:38
point, and it's going to take into account the three-quarter inch material, as well as
0:38 → 0:41
a one-inch overhang on all four sides on your top panel.
0:41 → 0:46
Your footprint dimensions are going to be the amount of space that your radiator cover
0:46 → 0:51
takes up on the floor, taking into account the three-quarter inch material on each side.
0:51 → 0:54
The footprint dimensions may vary from style to style.
0:54 → 0:56
So now that we've talked about the terminology,
0:56 → 0:59
let's go ahead and measure for those interior dimensions.
0:59 → 1:01
Starting with our length, we're gonna measure
1:01 → 1:04
from the widest point on the radiator on either side.
1:04 → 1:06
In this case, we have this bleeder valve
1:06 → 1:10
and these pipes going into the floor on the right-hand side.
1:10 → 1:13
So we're gonna go ahead and measure there.
1:13 → 1:16
Do the best we can.
1:16 → 1:19
And we're gonna get right about 23 inches here.
1:19 → 1:21
We're gonna round up and add two inches
1:21 → 1:24
and use 25 for our interior length.
1:24 → 1:26
For height, we're gonna do the same thing.
1:26 → 1:29
We're gonna measure from the floor
1:29 → 1:32
to the top of the radiator at its highest point.
1:32 → 1:35
And that's gonna be right about 37 and a half inches.
1:35 → 1:38
We're gonna round up to 38 and add one inch
1:38 → 1:41
to get 39 for our interior height.
1:41 → 1:43
So when we measure for our interior depth,
1:43 → 1:45
we're gonna wanna measure from the baseboard
1:45 → 1:46
to the front of the radiator,
1:46 → 1:49
and we're gonna wanna do this on both sides.
1:49 → 1:51
It's very common that a radiator won't be installed
1:51 → 1:53
parallel to the wall behind it.
1:53 → 1:55
So we wanna make sure that we're taking the depth
1:55 → 1:58
at its widest point.
1:58 → 2:03
So on this side, we have a depth of seven inches.
2:03 → 2:07
And on this side, it's actually closer to eight.
2:07 → 2:09
So we're gonna work off of this side that's deeper,
2:09 → 2:11
take eight inches, add one inch,
2:11 → 2:15
and we're gonna use nine for our interior depth.
2:15 → 2:17
So now that we have our interior dimensions,
2:17 → 2:19
I went to the Fitchman.com shopping cart
2:19 → 2:22
and entered those in to see an item preview
2:22 → 2:24
showing me all of my overall dimensions.
2:24 → 2:26
And I just wanna make sure that those are gonna fit
2:26 → 2:28
nicely in my overall space.
2:28 → 2:31
In this case, we have a bulletin board right here.
2:31 → 2:32
It could be a window sill.
2:32 → 2:35
We just want to make sure that things like your overall height and
2:35 → 2:39
your overall length are going to fit in your overall space.
2:39 → 2:43
And there you have it, a perfectly fitting radiator cover.
2:43 → 2:46
We know that not all radiators are going to be this straightforward to measure.
2:46 → 2:51
So if your radiator cover does require more customization, give us a call or
2:51 → 2:52
email us a photo.
2:52 → 2:53
Our experts will be happy to help.
2:53 → 2:59
