Things to Come (noto anche come Shape of Things to Come e nel materiale promozionale come H. G. Wells' Things to Come) è un film di fantascienza britannico del 1936 prodotto da Alexander Korda, diretto da William Cameron Menzies e scritto da H. G. Wells. Il film è interpretato da Raymond Massey, Edward Chapman, Ralph Richardson, Margaretta Scott, Cedric Hardwicke, Maurice Braddell, Sophie Stewart, Derrick De Marney e Ann Todd. H. G. Wells concepì il suo trattamento come “una nuova storia” destinata a mostrare le “forze e possibilità sociali e politiche” che aveva delineato nel suo libro del 1933 The Shape of Things to Come, un'opera che considerava meno un romanzo che una “discussione” in forma romanzata che si presentava come gli appunti di un diplomatico del XXII secolo. Il film è stato influenzato anche da opere precedenti, tra cui il suo racconto del 1897 “A Story of the Days to Come” e la sua opera del 1931 sulla società e l'economia, “The Work, Wealth and Happiness of Mankind”. Lo storico culturale Christopher Frayling ha definito Things to Come “una pietra miliare del design cinematografico”.
