0:00 → 0:06
Some of the questions you might want to be asking as you're outside the building now, talking to customers, is competition.
0:06 → 0:09
Competition kind of exists outside the business model canvas.
0:09 → 0:15
Think of the canvas now floating in a world where other people's business model canvases are floating as well.
0:15 → 0:21
And so just kind of take a step back and go, well, who else is out there and what are they doing?
0:21 → 0:25
The next thing you want to be asking, again outside the canvas:
0:25 → 0:31
Why is this problem so hard to solve or why is this service not being done by other people?
0:31 → 0:36
It might be that, hopefully, you really do have an insight or breakthrough.
0:36 → 0:41
Or it might be you're hallucinating. And so you really do need to keep asking that question.
0:41 → 0:45
Not only to yourself. Go ask it to the people you're talking to.
0:45 → 0:51
Ask them, has anybody done this? And if they're thinking "we've never seen it". Ask them why? Why do you think?
0:51 → 0:58
You might get some insight like, oh yeah, there have been nine vendors in the last you know three and a half years who tried this and they all failed.
0:58 → 1:01
Warning, you might want to investigate why that happened.
1:01 → 1:05
Hopefully you have a different approach or a different insight than anybody else.
1:05 → 1:12
And as we kept talking about earlier: market size. We're gonna be talking about how to size the market at the end of this lecture.
1:13 → 1:19
But you really do want to understand how big is this problem and is this what we want to spend our next couple years doing?
1:19 → 1:25
And then finally, as we said, how do you do it once you understand the customer needs.
