Aprèn els conceptes bàsics sobre els principis de la química sostenible com a part del tema de la química ambiental.
Els grups funcionals són les parts d'una molècula on es produeix una reacció. Algunes molècules poden tenir més d'un grup funcional, la qual cosa pot ser un problema si es duu a terme una reacció, però només es desitja que aquesta reacció es produeixi en un grup funcional determinat.
Per tal d'evitar que els altres grups funcionals reaccionin, hem de "protegir-los". Per a això hem d'afegir un grup protector o un derivat. Aquests grups també es diuen grups de bloqueig.
Això pot ser un problema perquè costa temps i energia per a afegir i eliminar a aquests grups.
Els químics, en un esforç per ser més respectuosos amb el medi ambient, desenvolupen mètodes quimioselectivos i síntesis, la qual cosa significa que la reacció sol es produirà en un grup funcional determinat.

In this video, we are going to look at parallel lines. To find the equation of parallel lines, we still use the y=mx + c equation, and because they have the same gradient, we know straight away that the gradient ‘m’ will be the same. We then just need to find the missing y-intercept ‘c’ value.

Plants have developed responses called tropisms. A tropism is a growth in response to a stimulus; so light and water in the plant’s case.
There are different types of tropisms: Positive tropisms are when growth is towards the stimulus - so the plant growing towards the light to maximise the stimul
